Kindness is Everything
You are not obligated to listen to any of the myriad of thoughts, that probably sounds like a chattering voice inside your head. You are in fact free to ignore, dismiss, observe and move on and not engage with a single one. For as long as you believe in your thoughts, an associated feeling will almost spontaneously appear and this will make you believe that what you thought is real. All of our experience is created by thought, all of the time. After all, your understanding of reality is what you think it is and from another perspective, you’ll always tend to see what you are looking for.
Thoughts, by themselves have no power. Nothing actually happens until your feelings make you react and this creates a behaviour which then gives a result in the outside world, which feeds back to you as an experience that you interpret as how the world is. Only until you invest your own energy and consciouness into these fleeting thoughts, do they become real. We don’t experience the world, we experience our thinking of the world. For example, if we are feeling disappointment, this isn’t telling us about the truth of our life, but feedback about the quality of our thinking at that moment.
Until we wake up to this understanding, we live within an illusion that is the creation of a display of endless permutations that are mirrored and refracted through the prism of thought. This energy at its source is Universal Consciousness. The more we realise it is only our thinking, the more our consciousness rises.
So, when at the end of the day, when you finally lie down and your thoughts seem to tumble in and fill your mind with worries, admonishments and unfulfilled desires, know that that little guy in your head that seems to have you under the hammer, is only thought chatter. Why not just say to it, “Please look upon me kindly, so I may rest in peace.”
